The beat goes on for the Colorado Rockies, who now find themselves teetering on the brink of a lost season after losing their eighth consecutive game last night. Starting pitcher Aaron Cook was pulled in the third inning after giving up five runs on six hits, including the first of two home runs hit on the night by Pirates slugger Garrett Jones. For the Rockies, Carlos Gonzalez hit a solo homer, his 18th of the season, and Troy Tulowitzki drove in his first run since coming off the disabled list. The Rockies hope to avoid what would be an embarrassing sweep this afternoon. ESPN Radio 1410 has the game action with pregame coverage at 1:35 and the first pitch at 2:10.

Street rejoined the team last night. The Rockies, who have lost eight straight games, take on the Pittsburgh Pirates this afternoon. ESPN Radio 1410 has the action.
